Introduction
After update of the current file with changes, the Organize Pages technique is helpful to capture fields including the properties of the fields.
Note: the capture does not add Form tags with the field objects to the Tag Tree. This step is best performed manually using the Cut\ Paste method.
Your Action Steps
In Adobe Acrobat Professional, open the previous PDF version.
Open the Organize Pages tool.
Select all the pages or only the pages that need fields or were changed. This is a continuous selection.
Select Replace.
In the File explorer window, navigate to and select the current version of the file.
In the Replace Pages dialog box, ensure the selections are correct for the Original and Replacement sections (the pages to replace).
Select OK.
Save the file with an appropriate name. This will be your updated file.
In this new saved file, you will need to associate the fields to Form Tags in appropriate positions in the Tag Tree according to the logical order of the content.
Review the other two posts in this three-post series for more tips on what to do when page count differs between the two files and how to associate the fields, once capture, to the Tag Tree.
