ACRO PDF - Capture Fields From Previous Version of PDF - Organize Pages Method - 2 of 3

Managing Updates Where the Page Count Differs

Sometimes the field update is between files where the number of pages in one file will either be more or less than the other.

During the field capture using the Organize Pages method, it is important that both the previous file and the new file have the same number of pages.

If the new file has more pages, use a feature with the Organize Pages ribbon to add a blank page or pages to the previous file.

If the previous file has more pages, open the new file first before beginning the Organize Pages process and add the necessary blank pages to the new file.

New File Has More Pages Than Previous File Action Steps

  1. Open the Previous file in Adobe Acrobat Professional.

  2. Activate the Organize Pages tool.

  3. From the Organize Pages Insert menu, select Blank Page.

  4. In the Insert Pages dialog box, ensure the Location selected is appropriate (usually After and Last are the correct settings).

  5. As needed, repeat the insertion of blank pages to make both file have the same number of pages.

  6. Perform the Organize Pages method as usual. Refer to the first post in this series.
